Launch of our new website against domestic violence - www.stopdv.com.au and campaign to create public awareness of Domestic and Family Violence within our community
On Sunday, 31st May, the Rotary Club of Windsor is holding a ‘Gather Against Domestic Violence’ to launch it’s website, stopdv.com.au and campaign Against Domestic and Family Violence. Windsor Rotary is joining many other Rotary Clubs throughout Australia campaigning against Domestic Violence and to educate young people about respect and respectful relationships.

The event will be in McQuade Park, on the corner of George Street and Hawkesbury Valley Way, beside the lake opposite the Hawkesbury City Council offices. The Rotary campaign is to increase community awareness of Domestic and Family Violence and to be aware of the signs that a family member or friend may be experiencing DV. Statistics show that throughout Australia, one woman is killed each week and one man each month, as a result of Domestic Violence.

A number of local groups that provide support for victims of domestic violence will be attending to provide information about their services. The members of Windsor Rotary Club will have free balloons for the kids and there will be a sausage sizzle and cool drinks available. The event will run from 11am to around 2pm and everyone is asked to wear something purple.

Come along on Sunday, 31st May and join us, wear purple and Gather Against Domestic Violence.
